Life insurance is a powerful means to many ends. From protecting your family or business, to saving money for college education or retirement, it can provide you the financial peace of mind you and your family deserve.
There are two main forms of life insurance:
- Permanent Life - Permanent life insurance is exactly that. It's a permanent policy of life insurance, in which a premium is paid to the insurance company with the idea that
in the event of the insured's death, the company will pay a pre-defined amount to the specified beneficiary.
- Term Life - Term Life Insurance is temporary. It provides protection for a temporary period such as 1, 5, 10, 20, 30 years. If the insured dies during this time period, the face value is paid to the beneficiary.
There are many variations of both forms, and these are the most popular:
| Permanent |
Term |
| Whole Life |
Yearly Renewable Term |
| Universal Life |
5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 Year Term |
| Variable Life |
Term to age 65
Decreasing Term, Reentry Term, Level Term |
Many companies offer discounts on life insurance for individuals who are nonsmokers or who have a history of good health.
